What do the different engine codes mean and which refer to a bad VP44 pump?
Store Admin Sep 24, 2014

Codes do not definitely tell you that an injection pump is bad, but rather act as a starting point for diagnosis. After a code is read a mechanic can perform additional tests to determine the injection pump is bad. You may also have a pump sent in for inspection and tested on a test bench.

I am installing a set of Marine Injectors (BOS0432193635) in my 1998.5-2002 24 Valve Dodge Cummins, and the injectors I pulled out of the engine look nothing like the Marine Injectors.
Store Admin Sep 24, 2014

This is a common mistake. If the part that you are holding in your hand is much smaller than the Marine Injector and have not pulled the valve cover you are most likely looking at the injector connector tubes that connect the metal Fuel Line from the VP44 injection pump to the actual injector.
